Don’t leave your infrastructure on the shelf

All retailers face intense commercial pressures that require them to adopt new technologies fast to meet customer expectations. They are not assisted in this by legacy IT infrastructure that, in many cases, is squeezed into whatever space can be afforded and is subject to neglect. Smaller retailers cannot afford the upfront costs of a radical overhaul of their IT, and larger chains need to do so on a business-wide basis. That said, large companies may also face funding issues with major refresh projects; these issues are not solely faced by smaller organisations. In both cases their lot can be improved by a hybrid IT model, allowing them to be fast on their feet where it matters, while maintaining control and easing their journey to a more efficient cloud setup without requiring a large chunk of capital expenditure.
