5G spectrum – 26 GHz and 28 GHz

November 26, 2018

The introduction of 5G pioneers a new level of mobile performance with ultra-high speeds and low latencies. What makes this possible is millimeter wave spectrum. In this range, 26 GHz and 28 GHz have emerged as two of the most important bands. These may offer the widest harmonisation with minimised user equipment complexity. The availability of much larger amounts of spectrum in the millimetre wave bands will allow for ultra-high-speed mobile broadband services.

Transport Networks for 5G

whitePaper | August 27, 2023

5G deployments continue their upward trend and will soon be the dominant mobile wireless protocol deployed in North America. The ecosystem is gathering valuable information from these deployments, and one area of focus is the transport network. As part of 5G’s evolution, key architecture components are being separated and distributed to the cloud in ways that make 5G more scalable and flexible. Meanwhile, bandwidth demands continue to increase at the same time applications and services require low latency. New requirements are presented to the transport network at each step of an operator’s 5G journey. The transport infrastructure of today must be flexible to adapt to upcoming requirements as it enables new architectures, tools, and ultimately, 5G networks innovation, monetization, and performance. The fundamental goal of the 5G transport network is to deliver transparent connectivity that allows both present and future functions to work together seamlessly.

Aging Data Centers and Why Enterprises Shouldn’t Retrofit Them

whitePaper | June 15, 2022

Data creation, consumption, and the need to store and process it may have no foreseeable end, but a data center facility has a closing date. Data centers can last 20 to 30 years, but its economically productive lifespan often caps at 10-15 years. Too often, enterprises attempt to squeeze as much life out of their data centers as possible despite drawbacks.

Infrastructure Protection Best Practices

whitePaper | December 14, 2022

In the post-pandemic world, we spread data everywhere. As remote and hybrid workforce models become the norm, multi-cloud deployments evolve into the de facto computing standard for distributed workloads. This expands the attack surface well beyond the walls of a traditional data center and overextends already understaffed security teams. As a result, organizations struggle to combat the growing number of insider and outsider threats targeting their invaluable digital assets.
