Will blockchain will provide the underlying infrastructure for IoT devices to negotiate?
I didn't know it at the time, but I was talking with colleagues about IoT back in 1998 (we called it ubiquitous computing then, but were often discussing device-to-device communication). Now that IoT is really starting to take off, as is usual, many different platforms, protocols, and ecosystems are being developed to manage it. Interoperability is going to be a problem. Furthermore, as devices become more independent and autonomous, they are going to need to be able to negotiate and effectively bargain to receive data and charge to perform work.
