T-Mobile Agrees to Acquire Brookings Municipal Utilities' Sprint-branded Wireless Assets
businesswire | January 04, 2021
T-Mobile US, Inc. declared today that it has agreed to gain the Sprint-marked remote working resources of Brookings Municipal Utilities (BMU) in Brookings, South Dakota. Under the previous Sprint brand, BMU works an organization of cell locales and gives remote and information administrations to roughly 14,000 clients in Sioux Falls, Watertown, and Brookings, South Dakota and Sioux City, Iowa. The procurement will additionally grow T-Mobile's retail conveyance and upgrade network inclusion in the zone. The arrangement incorporates BMU's remote organization, retail locations, and PCS range.
“T-Mobile is thrilled that we will soon be able to deliver all the benefits of our Supercharged Un-Carrier and America’s largest 5G network to our newest wireless customers in southeastern South Dakota and Western Iowa,” said Mike Sievert, President & Chief Executive Officer at T-Mobile. “Once fully integrated, we will expand our retail footprint in the area and bring T-Mobile’s award-winning approach to service to these customers. We can’t wait to serve them!”
Following the exchange, T-Mobile hopes to completely incorporate the procured resources into T-Mobile's organization and retail appropriation in the district. The fulfillment of the exchange is dependent upon certain standard shutting conditions and we anticipate that the end should happen in Q1 2021.
