Spirent Sharpens Its Focus on 5G and Lifecycle Service Assurance

The test, measurement, and assurance company Spirent unveiled new initiatives to grow its 5G, lifecycle service assurance, and analytics businesses. The U.K.-based company will also explore new use cases such as virtualization and autonomous vehicles. In its second quarter 2018 earnings call yesterday, Spirent said it recently won new customers in 5G development, in 100G and 400G Ethernet performance testing, and in the lifecycle service assurance segment. It boasted of a deal with an unnamed Tier 1 U.S. service provider. Spirent also saw an increase in U.S. government spending in the quarter.
