Rafay Systems launches Kubernetes operations for converged infrastructure

Rafay Systems
Rafay Systems, the leading Kubernetes Operations platform supplier, announced today that the Rafay Kubernetes Operations Platform can now orchestrate Windows worker nodes with Linux on AMD64 (x64) and ARM architectures (KOP). As a result, IT and cloud operations/SRE teams can now ease Kubernetes operations from the cloud to the edge with similar workflows, automation, and tools, regardless of the underlying architecture or operating systems (OS), such as Linux/AMD-64, Linux/ARM-64, or Windows/AMD-64.

As businesses upgrade their infrastructure, they're finding that different machines are needed for different sorts of applications, such as Windows, Linux, and ARM. As a result, businesses face increased expenses and resource limits as teams struggle to configure, implement, and manage the continuous maintenance necessary for updates, integrations, and patching, to name a few examples. These issues are exacerbated at the edge, where diverse designs may necessitate separate servers or virtual machines (VMs), each with its own orchestration strategy, resulting in a lack of uniformity and higher operational expenses.

Rafay enables DevOps and operations/SRE teams to expedite the conversion of traditional Windows apps to a cloud-native architecture without the need to upgrade them by centralizing management and operations. This frees up resources for application modernization activities and saves time.

"We live in a heterogeneous IT world where most enterprises can't just start fresh on a cloud-native journey. Infrastructure and operations teams want to consolidate heterogeneous environments in order to simplify management and operations of complex IT systems. Rafay enables enterprises to leverage Kubernetes as the universal orchestrator for both containerized and VM-based applications as well as containerized applications optimized for different CPU architectures to dramatically simplify and streamline infrastructure and application operations."

Mohan Atreya, SVP Product and Solutions at Rafay Systems.

Enterprise IT and cloud operations teams don't have to maintain distinct clusters based on architecture type or operating system because the Rafay KOP unifies diverse worker nodes, reducing infrastructure and management complexity. Teams may easily leverage containers and Kubernetes to minimize cost and management overhead by combining activities into a single pane of glass.

Teams may use Rafay KOP to design consistent processes and use strong automation and tooling, regardless of the underlying architecture or operating system, to make IT operations simple, standardized, and repeatable.
