Quest Automates Office 365 Functions in New Addition to SaaS Lineup

Quest Software has had its stake in the ground for more than two decades by serving as home base for a lot of veteran database developers around the world, providing tools and services that assist them with handling installation, app development and continuing maintenance on complicated Oracle DB and Microsoft SQL environments. During the last couple of years, however, it also has pivoted to new markets with software-as-a-service (SaaS)-based deployments. Industry observers have pointed out that the company is a bit late to the party, but the fact remains that there is still a lot of business out there that is data center-based and needs Quest’s older, reliable tools to keep things running. But two years after it was sold by Dell after four years of ownership to two private equity companies for a shade more than $2 billion, the Aliso Viejo-Calif.-based company kept the line moving July 16 with the launch of Quest On Demand Migration. This is the newest addition to the company’s Microsoft Azure-hosted software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, Quest On Demand.
