iM Critical's Miami Data Center: Miami's Next-Gen Colocation Hub

iM Critical
The iM Critical Miami Data Center is the newest location in the increasing footprint of iM Critical, a data center and IT services firm driving the future of IT infrastructure. This 100,000-square-foot structure, designed specifically for mission-critical activities, now has over 60,000 square feet of colocation space and 5MW of power.

This strategically placed IT hub in the heart of Miami is above the 100-year flood plain and outside of storm evacuation zones, with heavy floor load capacity and 13'8" clear ceiling heights. As a result, this data center provides substantial space and electricity without the usual limits often seen in this market's existing facilities, in addition to keeping advanced IT equipment secure from its surroundings.

The data center is well-connected to meet and surpass customers' needs for data agility and mobility, with a variety of fiber entrances, direct, carrier-neutral interconnection to dozens of peers, and a direct public cloud on-ramp. This is complemented by convenient access to major airports and interstate highways. In addition, customers can choose from scalable retail and wholesale colocation options, as well as a 24/7 onsite Network Operations Center, disaster recovery suites, and full-stack IT managed services.

"Our Miami location has the potential to remove many barriers for organizations within this metro, while allowing for unimpeded growth of data center operations — augmented by our intense focus on sustainability initiatives. These transformative digital offerings are supported by our high-touch service and our team's depth of experience designing, engineering, building, owning and operating data centers. We're thrilled to be bringing this game-changing location to market."

Michael Roark, CEO of iM Critical

Onsite renewable energy sources supplement the site's power (supplied by three utility substations) and extensible power infrastructure. This Miami data center, like iM Critical's recently opened Pittsburgh campus, is motivated by iM's core mission to being a leader in environmentally sensitive and sustainable IT processes. This enables the corporation and its clients to meet one of the era's most critical technological imperatives: mitigating climate change and IT's impact on global environments through more energy-efficient data center operations.

"Our Pittsburgh announcement was a giant step towards showcasing our innovation in the realm of IT infrastructure to respond to demand for high-performance colocation data centers with imbedded IT service offerings," states Lenny Chesal, iM's Chief Evangelist. "Our Miami location follows suit and will serve to bring this robust building back to life and generate new opportunities to this historic Little River community. We will be working closely with the South Florida tech scene to grow the expanding ecosystem of startups, fast-growth companies, and dynamic enterprises looking for transformative solutions. I am thrilled to be back in Miami where I started in the data center business in 2000!"
