Comptek Technologies Joins Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program, Providing Smart Infrastructure for 5G and Emerging Technologies
Comptek Technologies | May 05, 2021
Comptek Technologies (Comptek), LLC confirmed recently that it has joined the Qualcomm® Smart Cities Accelerator Program. Comptek is a member of the Aero Wireless Group and a provider of smart city infrastructure. Comptek has joined an ecosystem of providers that offers end-to-end applications for the rapid deployment of IoT and smart city technology.
Comptek creates concealment poles, street light structures and support poles, and concealment shrouds to convert or replace existing vertical structures into smart infrastructure. The company's thoughtful approach to design and innovation considers the need for accelerated deployment of wireless networks while emphasizing municipalities' responsibility to protect rights-of-way and retain the architectural character of the community. Comptek's modular design provides a compact and versatile platform for deploying 5G, CBRS, LAA, WiFi, and new technologies such as vehicle-to-everything (V2X), electric vehicle and drone charging, and IoT technologies (e.g., public safety, lighting controls, environmental sensors).
The Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program, launched in 2019 as part of the Qualcomm® Advantage Network, connects cities, municipalities, government departments, and enterprises with an ecosystem of providers to help achieve greater efficiencies, cost savings, safety, and sustainability. Qualcomm Technologies and Comptek collaborate closely with IGNITE CITIES to assist mayors around the country in reimagining and rebuilding their cities. Program members with proven experience in commercially deployed solutions include hardware and software vendors, Cloud solution providers, system integrators, design and manufacturing firms, and others providing end-to-end smart city solutions. By bringing together members interested in smart city solutions, the program aims to improve people's lives by accelerating the transformation of city infrastructure and facilities.
Comptek guides wireless operators, cities, and smart technology providers on technical and aesthetic service requirements for smart city implementations, in addition to connecting people and communities with advanced, well-designed infrastructure to enhance public safety and quality of life. The ability of the company to transform existing street infrastructure by incorporating smart technology opens the possibilities for smart spaces.
