Ericsson Plans to Acquire NodePrime to Advance Software Defined Infrastructure

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) reported earlier Tuesday it plans to further invest in NodePrime to acquire a 100% stake in the company. The company did not provide details on the size of the investment, only saying the investment will be paid in cash. The company said the acquisition will help accelerate the development of software platforms for datacenter hardware automation and analytics. NodePrime’s software platform is currently integrated in the Ericsson Hyperscale Datacenter System 8000, and allows the discovery, analysis and automated configuration of datacenter hardware platforms. ADRs of ERIC were inactive pre-market Tuesday, after closing Monday in the lower half of the 52-week range of $8.43 to $13.10.
