NextDC Opens Micro Data Centre In Edge To Hyperscale Infrastructure Push

Australian data centre operator NextDC (ASX: NXT) has opened a micro data centre in Perth in create a bridge between the ‘small’ infrastructure deployment and its larger 20MW hyperscale facility also located in Western Australia. The P2 microsite is the company’s first edge data centre and supports Western Australian based connectivity providers, delivering connectivity requirements into critical public cloud services such as AWS Direct Connect and Microsoft Azure, as well as metro, national and international links including the recently launched INDIGO submarine cable system which directly links Australia’s east coast to Perth and to Singapore.
