Solent NHS trust IT infrastructure ‘a risk to patient care’

One of the CQC reports published recently has revealed the state of IT systems at Solent NHS trust poses ‘a risk to patient care’, according to the findings of the summer inspection. The report showed not only that staff at the trust had problems accessing and updating IT systems, but also that electronic information was sometimes reported ‘missing’. “Some staff had problems accessing records, including discharge information. Sometimes records were missing on the electronic system and there were delays in getting them added which could impact on care,” revealed the CQC inspection.
