Mist Spreads Its WLAN Technology to Juniper Networks’ SD-WAN

ist made another strategic alliance related to its WLAN technology — this one with Juniper Networks. The two companies announced that Juniper will integrate the Mist Learning WLAN with Juniper’s Contrail SD-WAN technology. By combining WLAN and SD-WAN customers obtain visibility into their wired and wireless networks for both the local area network (LAN) and the wide area network (WAN). The joint solution gives customers reliable and measurable network access. And it provides monitoring capabilities, all in one place. In August, Mist made a similar announcement with VMware. Mist and VMware built a joint product with interoperability between Mist’s Learning WLAN and VMware’s VeloCloud-based NSX SD-WAN. Earlier this year, Verizon Enterprise Solutions launched a software-defined wireless local area network (SD-WLAN) managed service, and it chose Mist’s technology for the offering. The service manages both the corporate WiFi network and Bluetooth-enabled devices connected to the network.
