Officials at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) wanted to quickly evolve the institution's infrastructure so they could make data more available. They faced strategic questions around financial aid and recruitment but lacked the data infrastructure and technology to answer them. After moving from on-premise to the cloud, they were able to take a deep dive into their data to answer questions such as whether they were recruiting students likely to be successful and how unmet financial need impacts student retention.
