Work has begun in the town of Rindge on an extensive fiber-to-the-home internet infrastructure. The clock began ticking for Consolidated Communications this summer, when the town officially secured a bond to pay for the work, which was approved overwhelmingly during March Town Meeting. The $2.6 million bond – paid for by user fees of those who sign onto the service – is intended to provide high-speed internet access to every address in town. Consolidated Communications, which won the bid for the project, has 18 months to complete the work.
