EXFO and Intel Collaborate to Develop Groundbreaking Solution for Fault Detection Across Cloud and Network Infrastructure

EXFO | June 16, 2022

EXFO and Intel have launched a ground-breaking technology that enables 5G network operators to identify and correlate service degradation concerns. Whether failures occur in the network, service tiers, or the cloud-native network architecture, this solution offers automation for cloud-specific assurance. According to the most recent findings of a study conducted jointly by Heavy Reading and EXFO1, 81 percent of operators polled anticipate that 5G networks would be more challenging to troubleshoot than 4G networks. Similarly, 69% of operators concurred that problem detection and correlation are more challenging in cloud-native networks, with 74% noting a lack of adequate cloud-specific assurance technologies that force them to rely on manual processes. EXFO's full-stack assurance solution uses Intel's platform observability and EXFO's ASA platform to close the visibility gap between cloud-native infrastructure and network and service layers. This gives total visibility across operator networks. The technology allows operators to examine cloud-native infrastructure from the chip level up, isolating or correlating defects across all network domains. EXFO with Intel technology reduces resolution time and domain-specific fault denial. "Network virtualization is an evolutionary path that began in 4G and is now firmly established in 5G. However, managing service level agreements across virtual and physical domains is significantly more challenging, especially when the operator does not always own the infrastructure. As part of our adaptive service assurance platform, EXFO's full-stack assurance solution ensures that operators can detect, correlate and resolve faults wherever they originate, significantly reducing time to resolution." Philippe Morin, EXFO's CEO EXFO's full-stack assurance solution is driven by adaptive service assurance technology, which recognizes customer-impacting events from network infrastructure and services and provides visibility across network layers 1-7. The solution automatically gathers and analyzes the proper combination of system, monitoring, and telemetry data to perform real-time network monitoring and guide effective action. In addition, EXFO's data source-agnostic adaptive service assurance technology provides rapid access to Intel Platform Telemetry Insights data.

UbiStor Announces Infrastructure as a Service Partnership with Scale Computing

UbiStor | July 21, 2022

UbiStor, a globally-recognized Chicagoland-based Managed Services Provider, has announced its infrastructure partnership with Scale Computing. Scale Computing would be the newest provider to join UbiStor’s arsenal of Managed Backup and Disaster Recovery Solutions. Founded in 2001, UbiStor’s team of engineers have spent over two decades in the industry, specializing in Backup and Disaster Recovery as a Service. As data and threats to that data have become more complex, there has been an increasing need for expert MSPs familiar with integrating a variety of solutions depending on their customer’s environment, acting as a main point of contact during routine testing or in the event of disaster. UbiStor specializes in creating Backup and Disaster Recovery Roadmaps for customers with the ability to scale as they grow and weave new solutions into their evolving environment – all backed by their team of expert engineers on an ongoing basis. In 2021, UbiStor’s Managed SafeStor solution powered by Acronis quickly became one of their most-utilized services, but there was a clear desire from customers for an on-premises appliance with continuity across both platforms. The integration of the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud and Scale Computing's Business Resilience System (BRS) Appliance gives UbiStor’s customers the agility of a hybrid cloud data protection service with the flexibility of instant local virtualization and recovery using the BRS hardware platform, completely changing how UbiStor brings Acronis services to the market. “The addition of Scale Computing to our Backup and DR-as-a-Service offerings enhances our ability to help customers meet their local restore and recoverability requirements, while still being able to leverage the advanced capabilities of the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud.” Dan Hill, CEO, UbiStor About Scale Computing Scale Computing is a leader in edge computing, virtualization, and hyperconverged solutions. Using patented HyperCore™ technology, Scale Computing Platform automatically identifies, mitigates, and corrects infrastructure problems in real-time, enabling applications to achieve maximum uptime, even when local IT resources and staff are scarce.
