Cisco’s HyperFlex multicloud platform gains support for containers

Cisco Systems Inc. Thursday said it’s updating its hyper-converged infrastructure platform HyperFlex to enable both multi-cloud deployments and management of on-premises software containers. HyperFlex 3.0 is a platform that combines hardware from Cisco with software obtained from Springpath Inc., which the networking giant acquired in September. The latest release adds support for Microsoft’s Hyper-V hypervisor, in addition to VMware Inc.’s ESXi hypervisor, which was supported in earlier editions.
